Our Role
The Technologist will assist in delivering the department's KPIs and strategy. You will support operational efficiencies and proactively suggest process improvements.
They will ensure that:
* Initial designs and concepts are translated into workable briefs for vendors/agents.
* Vendors/agents produce samples efficiently.
* Products are manufactured and delivered to TWC standards.
What you'll be doing
* Maintain garment construction methods to meet high standards. Take technical ownership of all Nightwear and Swimwear products to ensure consistent fit, construction, performance, and quality, while maintaining sizing continuity.
* Lead fit sessions.
* Measure and document comments in Excel.
* Discuss risk assessments at proto stage with suppliers, designers, and buyers.
* Monitor product returns and complaints; report to QA Manager and senior Technologist.
* Attend weekly Critical Path meetings with the buying team.
* File technical specifications, test reports, and correspondence for traceability.
* Approve care labels and testing requirements; communicate decisions to suppliers.
* Ensure compliance with international testing and trading regulations; flag non-compliances.
* Report quality issues, relay non-compliances, and advise stakeholders.
* Approve production samples with appropriate references.
* Conduct store visits to assess quality and examine competitors.
* Input product data into systems.
* Prepare seasonal product reports for leadership.
* Support other departments as needed.
* Attend supplier visits with buyers/designers when required.
Distribution Centre/QC liaison
* Coordinate with QC warehouse team for inspections.
* Investigate quality issues, find solutions, and report to QA manager.
* Resolve emerging issues involving relevant teams.
* Assist in traceability of Gold Seals and QC inspection visibility.
* Handle damaged goods and transit damages; recharge costs appropriately.
* Ensure compliance documentation is accessible to prevent delays.
The Skills And Experience You’ll Need
* Experience with Nightwear and swimwear.
* Knowledge of jersey and woven fabrics for different uses.
* Understanding of swimwear fabrics and finishing.
* Strong knowledge of garment fit, construction, troubleshooting; pattern cutting experience is a plus.
* Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
* Relevant degree or qualification.
* Excellent computer, organizational, and communication skills.
* Adaptability and eagerness to learn across product categories.
* Ability to prioritize, multitask, and work under pressure.
* Attention to detail.
* Professional, credible, and autonomous work ethic.
* Understanding of garment construction, fit, testing, and safety standards.
* Knowledge of UK, EU, and US garment regulations.
