Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of a dynamic team of Echocardiographers based at the Bristol Heart Institute.
Main duties
The main duties include supporting Echocardiographers/Cardiologists to meet patient needs, helping to prepare patients for theirs echoes, liaising with patients and other healthcare professionals, and offering administrational support.
Qualifications
An Echocardiographic Assistant should have good interpersonal skills, a knowledge of IT systems, and be a compassionate individual ready to form an integral part of a busy clinical team.
Good communication skills are essential, as well as an empathetic approach to both patients and their relatives. You will work with the multidisciplinary team to ensure that the patients of Bristol experience a high standard of service and a good patient journey. Previous experience of working in the NHS would be an advantage.

Responsibilities
* To assist the Echocardiographers and the Echo administrative staff with all working practices to ensure an efficient standard of service is maintained.
* Assist the Echocardiographers by providing a high standard of patient care before, during and after the echo in accordance with instructions and training received.
* Maintain effective communication with patients, relatives and members of the Multidisciplinary team regarding all aspects of care, demonstrating a range of appropriate communication skills, dealing with enquiries and taking action where appropriate, and passing information promptly to the appropriate member of staff.
* Maintaining accurate computer data and filing.
