Role Overview
As our podiatrist, you will provide outstanding evidence‑based care, advanced assessment and treatment for patients who may have complex and/or chronic presentations. You will determine the clinical diagnosis and treatment, maintain records as an autonomous practitioner, and assess and treat a range of conditions including diabetic patients, wound management, MSK pathologies and nail surgery.
You will deliver non‑judgemental care, build therapeutic relationships and promote professional boundaries. You will actively participate in assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care, following our policies and procedures. You will inspire excellence in colleagues by proactively managing foot, ankle, and lower‑extremity conditions, and motivate the wider team to identify high‑risk patients.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide evidence‑based care and advanced assessment for complex or chronic foot, ankle and lower‑extremity conditions.
* Determine clinical diagnosis and treatment plans, maintain accurate records as an autonomous practitioner.
* Assess and treat diabetic patients, wound management, MSK pathologies and nail surgery.
* Deliver non‑judgemental care, build therapeutic relationships and promote professional boundaries.
* Actively participate in assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care, following policies and procedures.
* Inspire excellence and motivate the wider team to identify high‑risk patients.
Qualifications
* HCPC registration with proven post‑registration experience assessing and treating a range of conditions.
* Experience assessing and treating diabetic patients, wound management, MSK pathologies and nail surgery.
* Excellent communication, organisational and IT skills (MS Word, Outlook and electronic notes systems).
* Evidence of CPD and experience in the MSK speciality.
* Non‑judgemental, compassionate and proactive approach to care.
* Self‑motivated and innovative care mindset.
Benefits and Working Conditions
* 3 sessions per month at HMP Whatton and 2 sessions per month at HMP Gartree (approx. 20 hours/month).
* Salary £40,000–£49,000 per annum pro‑rata, depending on experience.
