We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) to support the safeguarding and welfare of all children. As the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, you will play a key role in supporting the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) in ensuring that all safeguarding policies and procedures are effectively implemented. Key Responsibilities: Assist the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) in promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people. Support with the management of safeguarding concerns, ensuring that any issues are addressed swiftly and in line with school policies. Provide advice and guidance to staff on safeguarding issues, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements. Maintain accurate records of safeguarding concerns, referrals, and actions taken. Liaise with external agencies, such as social services and the police, where appropriate. Ensure that safeguarding training is up-to-date for all staff. Monitor the progress of students who have safeguarding concerns, ensuring their safety and wellbeing. Support the DSL in carrying out risk assessments and reviewing safeguarding practices. The Ideal Candidate: Strong understanding of safeguarding legislation, including Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE). Experience working in a safeguarding role within a school setting. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion and empathy. A proactive and solutions-focused approach to problem-solving.
