ASA Recruitment’s client, a Public Sector organisation in Edinburgh/Glasgow, is currently looking to recruit a Finance Business Partner on a hybrid basis, on an initial 3 month contract (with potential extensions) on a rate of c.£(Apply online only)/day inside of IR35 (based on experience).
The Role:
We are seeking an interim Finance Business Partner to assist the Head of Finance in providing strategic management of the organisation’s corporate financial and physical resources to support the delivery of the organisation’s Corporate Plan.
The interim Finance Business Partner will take ownership of key business partnering responsibilities, including budget holder engagement and elements of monthly and annual reporting.
The role will also help balance workloads across the team, reduce single points of failure, and create necessary capacity and resilience for the finance team whilst we go through the process of recruiting to this role on a permanent basis.
Essential Experience:
* Hold a recognised accountancy qualification (CIPFA, ICAS, other CCAB, CIMA or equivalent).
* Demonstrable experience of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, financial monitoring and variance analysis in a complex organisation.
* Experience of producing high quality financial reports, including scenario planning and long-term financial modelling.
* Strong oral and written communication skills, to provide clear advice to all levels of staff.
* Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships and collaborate effectively across the organisation.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and financial management systems, including advanced Excel skills.
* Ability to work with integrity, discretion, and sound judgement, demonstrating high professional and ethical standards.
* Ability to manage competing priorities, meet strict deadlines and maintain accuracy under pressure.
Desirable Experience:
* Experience working within the public sector, particularly in an organisation subject to public audit.
* Knowledge of the wider Scottish public sector landscape.
* Understanding of central government accounting standards, budgeting and financial reporting frameworks
