James Murphy is the CEO of Ogilvy Group UK, which includes Ogilvy UK and New Commercial Arts (NCA), a boutique creative agency he co-founded in 2020, recently acquired by WPP. The Role: Seize this incredible opportunity to champion "earned first" thinking for one of the world's leading FMCG brands. We're looking for a visionary Account Director to create culturally resonant, high-impact consumer PR campaigns that don't just get noticed, they become part of the zeitgeist. You'll be the driving force behind the client relationship, leading day-to-day interactions and spearheading innovative strategies that generate explosive buzz and deliver measurable success. You'll masterfully manage partnerships with third parties, and ensure every piece of work meets and exceeds the highest quality and client expectations. Acting as a pivotal liaison, you'll perfectly align client objectives with our internal creative powerhouses. We need someone with a daring spirit – who embraces the new media landscape, challenges the status quo, and inspires clients to achieve bold and culturally relevant campaigns. Key Responsibilities: Inspire & Lead: Mentor a team to develop and execute breakthrough, "earned first" PR & Influence campaigns. Client Partnership: Build trusted advisor relationships with clients, understanding their business and anticipating their needs. Guide them across media communications. Creative Strategy: Collaborate with creative teams to develop compelling narratives and assets that resonate with target audiences. Data-Driven Optimization: Monitor campaign performance, leveraging data and analytics to optimize results and demonstrate ROI. Innovation & Trends: Stay ahead of industry trends, identifying new opportunities and approaches to enhance campaign effectiveness. Budget Management: Manage client budgets effectively, ensuring campaigns are delivered on time and within budget. New Business: Support new business efforts, participating in pitches and developing compelling proposals. Crisis Management: Develop and implement crisis management plans to protect client reputation. Inclusivity: Champion inclusiveness, diversity, and equity in all aspects of work. Media Relations: Will have maintained strong media contacts across a range of national, regional & consumer lifestyle title and be confident in outreaching to said contacts to garner feedback or pitch stories. Integration: Cross-channel collaboration with Influence & Organic social specialists, and cross-agency collaboration with paid media & experiential partners. Requirements: Extensive experience in consumer PR and influence, with a proven track record of driving successful campaigns. Share and use media knowledge to guide clients on what you believe is the best for their brand Deep understanding of consumer behavior and ability to develop creative strategies that resonate with target audiences. Demonstrated ability to think "earned first" and create campaigns that generate organic buzz. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Data-driven mindset and analytical skills. Knowledge of industry trends and best practices.
