HR Operations Lead (Immigration, Recruitment and Onboarding) – NESO
National Energy System Operator (NESO) is on a journey towards a sustainable and secure energy future. Together we build on this momentum, advancing the Electricity System Operator’s (ESO) plan for zero carbon operability of the electricity system by 2025. NESO is creating a new in-house HR Operations team, seeking an experienced HR Immigration Advisor to lead across immigration, recruitment and onboarding in support of the HR Operations Manager. The HR Operations team delivers HR operational processes and services across the organisation, including joiners, leavers, absence, right to work, benefits and reward. This role supports the implementation of immigration processes and ways of working, aided by the new HR system.
This role can accommodate hybrid working with onsite presence in Warwick 2-3 days per week and once a month in Wokingham.
Key Accountabilities
* Lead on mobility and immigration across the HR Operations team and NESO.
* Ensure efficient, high-quality transactional activities across the employee lifecycle, with a focus on recruitment, onboarding, and immigration.
* Be the main point of contact for queries to external immigration partners and internal stakeholders.
* Provide accurate and timely immigration advice via phone, email and live chat to NESO colleagues, ensuring a positive experience.
* Support quality monitoring and coaching to continuously improve customer service.
* Manage a range of UK immigration applications, including Tier 2 and ILR, delivering expert guidance.
* Identify and implement process improvements to streamline right-to-work and background checking administration, including automation where possible.
* Stay up to date on immigration reforms and policies and advise on best practice for the UK; support policy implementation as required.
* Work closely with Talent Acquisition, HRBPs and Reward to align activities.
* Ensure data accuracy, GDPR compliance, and robust reporting as required.
* Contribute to the development of operating procedures and service standards; maintain documentation to meet audit requirements.
* Provide day-to-day coaching to HR Operations Admin support on immigration, recruitment and onboarding.
* Suggest process and efficiency improvements to enhance the employee experience, focusing on data-driven, streamlined solutions.
* Demonstrate strong case management and be able to manage and coordinate a personal volume caseload.
About You
* Proven experience as an HR Immigration Advisor with knowledge of recruitment and onboarding.
* Experience providing advice and guidance on immigration matters.
* Proven experience in a HR Operations Advisor role with strong proficiency in HR Information Systems; proficiency with Workday is advantageous.
* Ability to generate and analyse HR data reports and manipulate data in Excel as needed.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to identify potential risks.
* Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to influence and manage stakeholder expectations; able to collaborate at all levels.
* Exceptional organisational skills and ability to manage multiple changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team, take initiative and contribute ideas to implement process improvements.
* Customer-centric mindset with a passion for a positive employee experience.
* Experience working with 3rd party providers to ensure seamless service.
What You’ll Get
A competitive salary between £45,000 - £50,000 – dependent on experience and capability. In addition to base salary, you’ll receive a company performance bonus, 26 days annual leave, and a contributory pension scheme with employer contribution up to 12% (company match).
