Are you a Psychology or Criminology graduate seeking meaningful, frontline experience before progressing into careers such as Forensic Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Youth Justice, or Social Work?
This is a unique opportunity to work within a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) primary school in Kensington and Chelsea, supporting children with complex emotional and behavioural needs, including those who have experienced trauma or adverse childhood experiences.
This role offers invaluable practical experience in trauma-informed education, behaviour support, and relational practice, equipping you with the skills and insight needed for postgraduate training and careers across psychology, criminal justice, or therapeutic support services.

Key Responsibilities
1. Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to support their emotional and behavioural development.
2. Provide 1:1 and small group support during both academic and therapeutic interventions.
3. Support children at risk of exclusion or disengagement from education.
4. Help pupils regulate emotions, manage behaviour, and develop resilience using trauma-informed and restorative approaches.
5. Assist teachers with lesson delivery, classroom management, and behaviour support strategies.
6. Encourage independence, life skills, and positive coping strategies in a safe, structured environment.
7. Promote inclusion by making effective use of school spaces—from calm regulation areas to outdoor learning—to support academic, social, and emotional growth.
What We’re Looking For
8. Graduates in Psychology, Criminology, Youth & Community Work, or related fields.
9. Experience in youth work, mentoring, care, or mental health support is beneficial but not essential.
10. A genuine motivation to support vulnerable children who have experienced trauma or SEMH challenges.
11. Calm, resilient, and empathetic individuals who remain solution-focused during challenging moments.
12. An interest in social justice, rehabilitation, and inclusive education.
13. Experience with SEMH or neurodivergent learners is an advantage—but full training is provided.
