Key Responsibilities:
To facilitate the smooth and efficient running of the Rapid Diagnostic Clinic (RDC), the post holder will be responsible for:
1. Appropriately investigating and diagnosing patients referred to the RDC.
2. Communicating outcomes of patient assessments and investigations to the referring GP.
3. Supporting the administrative team and Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) in triaging referrals to the RDC.
4. Providing telephone and email-based diagnostic oncology advice to GPs.
5. Actively participating in the local RDC Multi-Disciplinary Meeting (MDM) and attending other relevant MDMs as required.
6. Working closely with the wider Acute Diagnostic Oncology Clinic (ADOC) team, including colleagues in the Emergency Department (ED) and Radiology.
7. Troubleshooting and resolving operational issues within the RDC team.
8. Accurately recording the minimum dataset required by RM Partners and NHS England (NHSE).
9. Participating in audit activities and contributing to RM Partners research projects.
10. Developing and maintaining links with the wider LNWH RDC team (including Ambulatory Care, ED, Radiology, Endoscopy, and Acute Oncology) to facilitate rapid and efficient patient investigation.
11. Aligning LNWH ADOC processes with existing West London Cancer Alliance ADOC services to ensure a unified, high-quality service.
12. Participating in regional RDC meetings and providing feedback to the Regional RDC Lead and Clinical Oversight Group.
13. Attending Trust Cancer Board meetings.
14. Maintaining accurate and contemporaneous clinical records.
15. Engaging in regular appraisal, performance review, and identification of training needs.
16. Participating in education and training activities as appropriate.

Qualifications and Training
Essential criteria
17. Hold a medical qualification or qualification registered with the GMC
Desirable criteria
18. BSc or MD or equivalent higher degree or evidence of relevant research
Clinical Experience
Essential criteria
19. Minimum 1 year post CCT clinical experience
Desirable criteria
20. Experience in palliative medicine or oncology
Management & Administrative Experience
Essential criteria
21. Understanding of Clinical Governance and the individual responsibilities it implies
Desirable criteria
22. Familiarity with issues of service organisation and development
