He postholder will be part of a team of Senior Tutors with responsibility for leading and coordinating the provision of high-quality personal tutoring, academic advice, complex case work, and professional student support. The appointee will work closely with another Senior Tutor to support students in the School of Humanities but will also contribute to initiatives and support across the wider Faculty.
What will you be doing?
You will lead the development of processes and materials to support inclusive teaching and assessment, personal tutoring, academic transition, study skills, transferable skills and employability in the School's subject areas, working alongside School education roles, programme directors, and central careers or study skills teams.
You will be the primary source of expertise for both staff and students on how to approach a range of issues and opportunities relating to students' academic progress, study support, and engagement needs. You will be a senior point of contact for students wishing to discuss a range of complex academic issues affecting their studies.
When specialist support is required, you will be the key interface between the staff in the School, the Faculty, and central support services, such as the Student Wellbeing Service, ensuring appropriate communication and actions. You will work closely with Senior Tutors, Academic Directors and others to develop and enhance appropriate student support mechanisms and academic processes within the School and across the Faculty.
