Psychoanalytically Informed Play Therapist

Hours: Part – time permanent 2 to 3 days a week (16 - 24hrs a week) – negotiable

About the role

Join our growing Therapies and Network Department at Amicus, an accredited Therapeutic Community dedicated to helping vulnerable and traumatised children recover and thrive. We are seeking a passionate professional to provide psychoanalytically informed play therapy, working collaboratively with a supportive, reflective team.

About Amicus:

As a Therapeutic Community every aspect of the day and the environment informs the care and work with the children, with relationships at the heart of our therapeutic work. Being at Amicus allows the children to experience meaningful and secure attachments where their past traumas can be safely explored with the hope of having more ordinary and healthy relationships in the future.

Accredited by the Royal College of Psychiatrists,we provide therapeutic care and education to children aged 4–16 (maximum age 11 on admission).

Grounded in psychoanalytic and group relations theory, our model ensures therapeutic care permeates all aspects of our school and children’s homes.

Role Highlights:

· Deliver therapy sessions for residential and day-placement children.

· Contribute to research, audits, and outcomes measurement within our Therapeutic Community.

· Collaborate with internal and external professionals to support children’s recovery from trauma.

* Own transport or non-reliance on public transport is essential.
