We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our clients team who are overseeing structural and cladding remediation work on housing projects across the UK. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in concrete frame, fit-out, and remediation projects. We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our clients team who are overseeing structural and cladding remediation work on housing projects across the UK. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in concrete frame, fit-out, and remediation projects. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects, providing cost management and quantity surveying expertise.
Key Responsibilities
Manage all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction projects. Oversee and manage the financial aspects of concrete frame, fit-out, and remediation projects from inception to completion. Prepare, review, and manage project budgets, cost plans, and valuations. Provide accurate cost advice and financial reporting to clients and project teams. Conduct risk and value management assessments. Prepare tender documents, contracts, budgets, bills of quantities, and other documentation. Negotiate contracts and work schedules with contractors and suppliers. Monitor project progress and ensure that costs do not exceed agreed budgets. Conduct site visits and assessments to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards. Manage and resolve any contractual disputes or claims. Prepare and present detailed reports to senior management and clients. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and other professionals to ensure successful project delivery. Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
Qualifications And Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field. Ideally, professional membership with RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) or equivalent. Minimum of 5 years of experience in quantity surveying, with significant experience in concrete frame, fit-out, and remediation projects. Proven track record of managing large-scale construction projects. Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement processes, and cost management. Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Proficient in relevant software applications (e.g., MS Office, cost management software). Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Full, clean driving license.
The role can be based from home, with a monthly visit to London required and fully recompensed. Alternatively our client has offices in the east and west central belt.
