SEN Teacher

Are you a SEN Teacher in the Wakefield, West Yorkshire area and looking for the next step in your career?

As an SEN Teacher you will become a member of a community that believes every child deserves to thrive. As a specialist SEND school they cater to pupils with a wide range of complex needs, including autism, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) challenges. While demanding, the role offers opportunities to build rewarding relationships with vulnerable young people guiding them to achieve their personal best.

SEN Teachers of all levels and experience will be considered for this role, including ECTs.

SEN Teacher Responsibilities:

Good working knowledge of the SEN Curriculum.

Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual needs and EHCP outcomes.

Assisting each individual child with their sensory and special educational needs.

Have experience of planning and delivering quality learning experiences for pupils.

Follow school policies and procedures with regards to safeguarding and behaviour.

Have experience in both KS1 and KS2 with SEN children.

The ability to quickly build positive relationships with both staff and students.

Tracking and assessing progress in both academic and personal development areas.

Creating a safe, nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.

SEN Teacher Requirements:

Recognised teaching qualification PGCE or equivalent (QTS).

UK experience as a SEN Teacher.

An enhanced DBS certificate registered with the update service or be willing to complete a new DBS.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

A strong belief in the potential of every child, no matter their starting point.

A creative and flexible teaching style that can adapt to individual needs.
