Job Summary

We are seeking a Salaried GP to provide maternity cover for 9 to 12 months, 6 sessions per week.
East Shore Partnership is an inner‑city practice in Portsmouth, Hampshire. We serve over 13,500 patients and have a good CQC rating, excellent QOF achievement, and are a member of the Brunel Primary Care Network.
Main Duties
* Knowledge and understanding of services relevant to primary care.
* Knowledge of current and forthcoming national policy and its effects on clinical practice.
* Knowledge of GP contracts, enhanced services and QOF.
About the Practice
Clinical team includes 3 GP Partners, 4 Salaried GPs, 2 Advanced Nurse Practitioners, a Pharmacist, Pharmacy Technician, 4 Nurses, 1 Mental Health Nurse Specialist, an HCA, a GP Assistant, 2 Trainee Nursing Associates, and a Diabetes and Respiratory Nurse Specialist.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
* Surgery consultations, triaging calls as appropriate, occasional home visiting and administration associated with patient care.
* Work closely with Advanced Nurse Practitioner to run duty sessions, providing advice and support.
* Collaborate with all relevant providers of primary and community care services.
* Maintain accurate records and keep relevant team members informed.
* Achieve the highest possible QOF outcomes.
* Develop care plans in consultation with patients and in line with disease‑management protocols.
* Support the proactive care agenda through care planning and multi‑disciplinary meetings.
* Attend team and healthcare meetings as required and represent East Shore Partnership at external meetings.
Other Responsibilities Within the Practice:
* Maintain confidentiality of the practice.
* Comply with all practice policies and procedures such as health and safety, prescribing, GDPR, and assist in their development.
* Fulfil any monitoring requirements attached to the post.
* Actively participate in clinical governance as required by the Performance and Practice Manager.
* Contribute to development of computer‑based patient records, summarising records and read‑coding data.
* Maintain and develop individual skills and knowledge, ensuring statutory, mandatory and Trust‑required training updates are completed promptly.
* Attend training and events organised by the practice or external agencies.
Person Specification
Qualifications (Essential)
* Fully qualified GP, MRCGP.
* GMC full registration.
* Registered on the relevant Medical Performers list.
Experience (Essential)
* Knowledge and understanding of services relevant to primary care.
* Telephone triage experience.
* Knowledge of current and forthcoming national policy and its effects on clinical practice.
* Knowledge of GP contracts, enhanced services and QOF.
* Previous experience of working in primary care.
Desirable Experience
* Experience using TPP SystmOne.
* Evidence of delivering QOF.
* Experience working with chronic disease management.
