Obstetric Ultrasound Failsafe Administrator

The Obstetric Ultrasound Failsafe Administrator supports the antenatal and newborn screening co‑ordinator in the collation and entry of data for the antenatal and newborn screening programmes, infectious diseases in pregnancy, Down's syndrome screening and Fetal Anomaly Screening, Haemoglobinopathy screening, Newborn Infant Physical Examination and Newborn Bloodspot screening. The Failsafe Admin will identify screening coverage of the eligible population and ensure the safety of the screening programmes. He/she will work closely with the antenatal and newborn screening co‑ordinator to facilitate failsafe mechanisms to identify and also prevent missed screening opportunities and maintain an audit trail for all of the above mentioned screening programmes. The Radiology Failsafe Admin will also maintain and evolve mechanisms to collect cohort data for the key performance indicators (KPI) and antenatal standards data and the National Screening Committee Annual Report for Antenatal and Newborn Screening. Assist in the collation of information and the production of Public Health England submissions.
The Failsafe Admin will be expected to communicate with other professionals involved in the screening process, to participate in the organisation of meetings, take minutes for the meetings, prepare teaching materials and disseminate performance management letters.
Main duties of the job
Main Responsibilities:
Provide general clerical support to specialist screening midwives and radiology staff, including making appointments, filing, telephone liaison, and referrals for maternity radiology screening.
* To input Down syndrome screening results into Cerner and ensure timely reporting of results to patients.
* To act as lead support for the establishment of the antenatal and newborn screening results failsafe system.
* To ensure that the failsafe system is maintained and to be responsible for ensuring that all women booked have a data entry and any missing data chased.
* Validate database with patient level data to ensure all women are offered Antenatal screening including: Sickle Cell & Thalassaemia; Fetal Anomaly & Infectious diseases, Newborn screening including: Newborn Blood Spot; Newborn & Infant Physical examination.
* To ensure that a daily audit of all screening data is performed and to escape any issues to the appropriate screening leads when women have not been screened – Issues with newborn screening should be escalated to Newborn Screening Co‑ordinator.
* Contribute and collate data for the annual screening report to the antenatal and newborn screening program.
* Attendance at Antenatal screening meetings. Produce regular performance reports/minutes for the screening board.

Person Specification
* Good general standard of education to GCSE 'O' Level (Grade A‑C) including English and Mathematics or equivalent Level 2 qualification(s)
* Educated to diploma level or equivalent level combination of NVQ 3 education, short courses and experience
* Previous administration/secretarial experience and a comprehensive experience of working in the NHS or other healthcare sector
* Experience of working with the general public in a customer or patient‑facing role.
* Experience of using patient administration systems and other Radiology in‑house systems i.e. Soliton, IEP, Cerner and Microsoft Office suite.
* Experience of inputting to databases, spreadsheets and/or other IT Systems and business applications used in the office environment.
