SALARY: DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE + 22 DAYS HOLIDAY (25 DAYS AFTER 4 YEARS + 3X DEATH IN SERVICE)
ROTATING SHIFTS: 6am - 2pm / 2pm - 10pm
Our client is a leading UK-based manufacturer specialising in innovative and sustainable flexible packaging solutions. They have recently invested £4M in their site, reinforcing their commitment to growth and cutting-edge production. The company serves sectors including food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, pet care, and personal care products.
Due to this investment, they are recruiting a Flexographic Printer to operate a new Soma Press.
Role Overview:
Operate flexo printing presses, ensuring designs are printed within target timeframes and meet customer specifications. Coordinate and manage the safe operation of the press, supervise the assistant, and ensure best practices. Organise ancillary products/equipment for a safe and efficient workspace, including raw materials, WIP, and finished goods, ensuring materials are available for the next process.
Responsibilities:
* Experience with Soma Press is preferred; consideration given to candidates with experience on other wide web presses printing up to 8 colors
* Ensure health & safety requirements are followed at all times
* Supervise print personnel to operate safely and efficiently
* Responsible for press operation and performance
* Minimise downtime and waste in the print department
* Improve machine performance through troubleshooting and continuous improvement techniques
* Manage consumables used in the print department
* Supervise and develop the skills of the print assistant team
* Maintain equipment, resources, and ensure safety, hygiene, and good housekeeping standards
* Follow health, safety, and hygiene procedures, including BRC compliance
* Conduct effective shift handovers to ensure quality and minimise downtime
* Optimize press speeds continuously
