Project Civil Engineer – London
We’re working with a well-established, multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy to recruit a Project Civil Engineer to join their expanding Civil Engineering team in London. This role offers the opportunity to take on a key position within a dynamic team, delivering development-led infrastructure projects across the capital and wider UK.
This is an excellent opportunity for a civil engineer with around 7–8 years' experience to step into a project-level role with clear scope to grow, mentor junior staff, and play a pivotal part in technical delivery and project coordination.
The Role
As a Project Civil Engineer, you will be involved in the design, management, and coordination of a wide range of infrastructure schemes, including highways, drainage, utilities, and public realm works. You’ll work closely with internal teams, external consultants, contractors, and clients to ensure timely, cost-effective, and technically sound delivery of each project.

Key Responsibilities
Lead or support the design and delivery of infrastructure projects across London and the UK.
Produce and review designs, technical reports, specifications, and calculations in line with current standards and regulations.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including architects, planners, and external consultants.
Attend client meetings and support stakeholder engagement throughout project lifecycles.
Provide technical support and informal mentoring to graduate and junior engineers.
Contribute to fee proposals, programme management, and internal resource planning.
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high technical standard.
About You
We’re looking for a motivated and technically capable engineer who thrives in a team-based environment and is looking to grow into a more senior role.
Essential:
BEng or MEng in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
7–8 years’ experience in a UK consultancy environment, delivering infrastructure design.
Strong technical knowledge of drainage, highways, and below-ground utilities design.
Familiar with industry design tools such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, PDS, MicroDrainage, Flow, etc.
Excellent communication and reporting skills.
Ability to manage workloads and support project delivery.
Desirable:
Working toward Chartered or Incorporated status (CEng or IEng) with the ICE.
Experience supporting or mentoring junior staff.
Familiarity with planning and adoption procedures (S104, S106, S278, S38, etc.).
