Job Description Job Title: Estimator / Project Coordinator Location: Stowmarket, Bury St Edmunds About the Role We are seeking an Estimator / Project Coordinator to join a well-established glazing and building envelope business specialising in the supply and installation of high-quality window and door systems across residential and commercial projects. The company delivers a full end-to-end service, including design support, product supply, and installation of glazing solutions such as uPVC, aluminium, timber, and composite systems. This is a dual-role position combining cost estimation and project coordination, supporting projects from initial enquiry through to completion. Key Responsibilities Estimating & Pre-Construction • Prepare accurate cost estimates and quotations for glazing projects, including windows, doors, and specialist glazing systems • Interpret drawings, specifications, and client requirements to produce detailed pricing • Carry out material take-offs and support BOQ preparation • Liaise with suppliers to obtain pricing for materials including aluminium, uPVC, timber, and composite systems • Support tender submissions and ensure estimates align with project scope and timelines • Provide technical input on product selection and system suitability Project Coordination & Delivery • Coordinate projects from order stage through to installation and completion • Liaise with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth project delivery • Monitor project progress, lead times, and installation schedules • Ensure all project documentation is accurate and up to date • Support communication between site teams and office to maintain alignment on programme and requirements • Assist in resolving project queries, variations, and scheduling changes Key Skills & Experience • Experience in estimating within glazing, windows & doors, or construction-related sectors • Knowledge of glazing systems, including double/triple glazing, window and door installations, and façade systems • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications • Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail in pricing and cost control • Experience coordinating projects or working in a project support role • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise across clients, suppliers, and site teams • Strong organisational and time management skills • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and general IT systems Desirable Experience • Experience working with architectural or specialist glazing projects • Knowledge of supply-only and supply-and-install project models • Familiarity with construction processes and installation sequencing • Understanding of building regulations and performance requirements (e.g. thermal efficiency, glazing performance) What’s on Offer • Opportunity to work on a variety of residential and commercial glazing projects • Involvement in full project lifecycle from enquiry to completion • Stable and growing business with a strong reputation in the glazing sector • Supportive team environment with opportunities for progression
