We are recruiting a full time (37.5 hours per week) Deputy Manager to join our team at Heather's Day Nursery. If you have previous experience of working in the early years sector and feel you could be an inspirational leader with a passion for childcare, then this could be the role for you.
The role
In supporting the role of the Nursery Manager, the successful candidates responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
* being responsible for a team of Early Years Practitioners and to be proactive in team building, staff motivation and in developing the staff to their maximum potential.
* being a positive role model to staff and children
* providing a fully inclusive environment for children, staff and parents.
* ensuring a stimulating, safe and caring Nursery environment is provided to enable each child to reach their full potential.
* ensuring required standards outlined in the Early Years Foundation Stage are met.
* ensuring compliance of Health, Safety and Welfare standards within the Nursery.
* ensuring quality provision is delivered in all areas
* working with the Nursery Manager to ensure maximum occupancy levels.
* having secure knowledge about the progress that all of the children are making, ensuring that each child is fully equipped to move to the next stage of their care and education
* responsibility for the management of the Nursery and deputise for the Nursery Manager in their absence and carry out such additional duties as required.
Experience
* we are looking for a committed, self-motivated, enthusiastic person who enjoys providing high quality childcare to children.
* we require a flexible and adaptable person who can demonstrate the ability to work using their own initiative and who is able to co-ordinate a team.
* must be able to share knowledge and learning with others in order to lead development.
* must have thorough knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage. A relevant Level 3 qualification in Childcare and Education or working towards is desirable.
Post-holders will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check and employment will be subject to receipt of two satisfactory references.
