Fixed term 18 months initially, with option to review after. Working pattern: Monday – Friday, 5 days. May require working at Gloucester and Cheltenham main hospital sites.
Responsibilities
* Your main role will be to provide a friendly and welcoming first point of contact on the telephone, triage calls, answer non‑clinical queries and recognise when to redirect and book patients for a nurse consultation.
* You may also be required to assist nurses with other aspects of the service such as group training and joint injections.
* Assist the nursing team with the organisation and booking of patients for group training sessions.
* Assist the nursing team in the delivery of group training sessions.
* Assist the nursing team in joint injection clinics.
* Provide nursing team administrative support to arrange medication for patients that are delivered via the homecare service.
* Book patients into call‑back clinics using the hospital IT systems accurately.
* Record all contacts to the advice line and update patient records accordingly.
* Adhere to all Trust policies and procedures.
* Deal with calls and emails in a timely manner, taking appropriate action as required.
Qualifications & Skills
You should be organised, flexible, a team player and able to work under pressure. Experience as a healthcare support worker is desired. Strong communication skills at all levels and the ability to handle sensitive patient queries are essential.
