The role may also involve contributing to the PSHE or RSHE curriculum, depending on your expertise and experience. Beginning September 2025. Duties as Citizenship Teacher: Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive lessons aligned with the national curriculum for Citizenship Promote critical thinking, debate, and student voice through current affairs and civic issues Encourage active citizenship through school and community initiatives Support students in developing understanding of political systems, law, and ethical issues Collaborate with colleagues on cross-curricular projects and enrichment opportunities Foster a respectful, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment Ideal Citizenship Teacher: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) A degree in Citizenship, Politics, Sociology, Law, or a related subject Strong subject knowledge and commitment to Citizenship education Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills as a Citizenship Teacher.
