We have a new opportunity for a Health, Safety & Security Coordinator to join us at AXA, based in either Derry or Belfast!
Reporting into the Health, Safety and Security Manager, you will ensure compliance with national legislation (both North & South) and also compliance with Group Standards, as outlined by Group Physical Security & Safety and Group Assurance.

You'll work majority of your week away from home. Away from home means either attendance at one of our head office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events.
What you’ll be doing:
Security
* Ongoing monitoring of threats through social media and the Group approved platforms.
* Completion / updating of Site Security Plans, Site Compliance Assessments and PSS Risk Assessments.
* Branch/Office security inspections.
Ergonomics
* Carry out in-person DSE assessments when required.
* Responsible for recording & monitoring compliance with DSE assessments.
* Reviewing DSE assessment reports and recommendations.
* Manage home office furniture requirements.
Communications
* Communicate and promote a safe workplace through welcome pack/email to new starts, delivering PowerPoint presentation on H&S induction training for new starts.
* Pro-actively manage the health and safety site content.
* Use of Viva Engage to communicate and promote HS&S training and important notices.
* Engage with branch managers monthly regarding HS&S documentation and training needs.
Training
* Identify the training needs for colleagues.
* Coordinate, record and monitor all HS&S.
* Provide HS&S Induction training to new joiners.
Safety documentation
Review and contribute to HS&S documentation content and updates, communicate new documents and any updates to staff, ensuring the most current version of documentation is available on our HS&S intranet page.
Manage First aid supplies
Ensure kits are adequately stocked – contents meet regulatory requirements.
Risk Assessments and Audits
* Carry out audit inspections as part of the HS&S team for Health, safety and security across the AXA property portfolio to ensure a safe and secure environment for staff, customer, Contractors and visitors.
* Carry out in-person DSE.
* Conduct pregnancy risk assessments for pregnant employees.
* Assist with PEEP’s for vulnerable employees and visitors.
Regulatory requirements
* Ensure we are meeting our regulatory requirements through compliance with mandatory H&S training, mandatory DSE assessments, sufficient workstation furniture, Pregnancy risk assessments, site audits, ensuring immediate action is taken to close any gaps/findings.
* Recording and monitoring and ensuring compliance with emergency drills across the property portfolio.
Operational Accountabilities & Responsibilities
* Responsible for identifying mandatory HS&S training & recertification needs including the monitoring, recording, and organizing of required training to ensure legal and regulatory requirements are met.
* DSE assessments – Ensuring compliance with Display Screen Equipment guidelines.
* Carry out inspections. Report on findings and assigning tasks where appropriate.
* Assist with risk assessments for external events when required.
* Manage various vendors to ensure compliance and best practice.
* Investigate safety/security concerns, accidents and incidents and make recommendations to resolve.
* Other duties will be assigned from time-to-time that may not be core HSS related.
Finance Accountabilities & Responsibilities
Manage the HSS annual budgets through effective expense forecasting, diligently tracking expenses, updating monthly accruals, and ensuring all purchase orders and invoices are processed in a timely manner.
What we’re looking for:
* 3 - 5 years Health and Safety experience essential.
* Full, clean driving licence and means of transport essential.
* Strong Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and regulations essential.
* Experience conducting inspections and reporting on findings.
* Experience conducting In-person DSE assessments and pregnancy risk assessments.
* Knowledge of Ergonomics.
* Strong knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and regulations.
* Certificates in health & Safety or security.
* Experience in data investigation, reporting, and presenting.
* Working knowledge of budgetary and cost control procedures.
As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorized to work in the Republic of Ireland.
