Job Title: Cut Packhouse - Packing Operative
Location: Vitacress Herbs, Runcton
Contract Type: Permanent
Shift: 4 on 3 off
Pay Rate: £11.84ph

You may already have factory, manufacturing, or warehouse experience, and this gives you the starting blocks to be an ideal candidate, but don’t worry no experience is needed and full training will be provided.
We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our Operations team as a Packing Operative. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in our production lines, working closely with the Line Leader and Machine Operator to grade, weigh, and pack herbs efficiently. We prioritize safety, quality, and customer satisfaction, and we are looking for someone who shares these values to contribute to our continued success.
It's important to note that this role involves standing for extended periods and working in a warehouse environment with loud machinery. Nevertheless, our Packhouse is recognized for its friendly and inclusive atmosphere, and the delightful aroma of herbs creates a pleasant work environment for you throughout the day. This is a full-time position on a 4 on / 3 off rota with daily hours reaching up to 12 hours, based on production requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and Food Safety Regulations in packing areas.
* Contribute to achieving Company vision, values, and interests.
* Meet daily targets, assist in production line setup, and maintain high-quality standards.
* Utilize correct scales program, ensure accurate pack information, and check sealing.
* Remove packed products daily, stay trained, and promptly report issues to supervisors.
* Maintain housekeeping standards through continuous cleaning.
* Follow instructions on products, scales, and speeds.
* Operate machinery safely and accurately.
* Report team issues to supervisors.
* Promptly remove packaging from the line.
* Stay informed on customer requirements for correct weights, counts, and labels.
* Qualify in food hygiene, set an example for hygiene standards.
* Contribute to Continuous Improvement projects.
* Provide information flow to management and staff.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
* Proactive attitude towards health and safety.
* Previous experience in a similar role is desirable.
