Job Description
A primary school based on The Wirral have approached New Directions to assisting them in finding a Teaching Assistant to support students within their Year 5/6 class. This role is to start as soon as possible and is on an ongoing until summer 2024. It is a part time role providing support all day Thursday and Friday mornings each week.
Within this role you will be working with a range of children, with special education needs, therefore a passion for seeing each child success in their learning is a must.

Responsibilities include:
– Assisting the class teacher by providing support to the students
– Supporting the students by adapting to their needs
– Promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment
– Collaborating with the class teacher to develop engaging educational activities
– Assisting with maintaining classroom organisation

Teaching or classroom assistants are now vital resources for teachers and are heavily relied upon in schools.

4. NVQ Level 2 Teaching Assistant

We’ll also consider experienced learning support assistants (LSAs) who have previously held a job in a primary school or assisted a pupil in the role in a secondary school but do not hold any of the above qualifications.

As a teaching assistant you’ll be expected to:
18. Assist in the educational and social development of pupils under the direction and guidance of the head teacher, ALNCO and class teachers
19. Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Programmes (IEP) for students and help monitor their progress
20. Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities
21. Assist class teachers with maintaining student records
22. Support students with emotional or behavioural problems and help develop their social skills
