Merrimac Park is a 96 bed modern, yet well-established Gold Coast Aged Care Service, offering high-quality levels of accommodation and privacy. The service is set amongst privately owned acreage, located just minutes from Central Gold Coast with the Robina Hospital and Robina Town Centre Shopping Centre.
Overview
The Registered Nurse, in consultation with the Head of Care, Clinical Nurses and the multidisciplinary team, provides nursing leadership of the facility. The RN works collaboratively with all levels of management, clinicians, carers, residents, families, support staff and relevant community agencies to facilitate an effective resident focused service.
The Registered Nurse will prioritise their own work within established policies, guidelines and procedures and are responsible for work performed with a substantial level of accountability and responsibility. Registered Nurses will oversee a team of Enrolled Nurses and AIN\'s throughout their shifts, providing support and guidance and ensuring a high level of care is provided to our residents.
Qualifications and requirements
* Aged care experience is essential
* Minimum 12 months experience as an RN
* Clinical assessment and care planning skills
* Strong working knowledge of continuous improvement and the Aged Care Quality Standards
* Current Practicing Registration with AHPRA
* Dementia qualifications and experience will be highly regarded
* Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills with a “Can do ” attitude
* Knowledge of AN-ACC
* High level of computer literacy including use of clinical software
* Current national police certificate
* Must be an Australian Citizen or a Permanent Resident or hold a valid work visa - sponsorship is not available
* Must be living in Queensland Gold Coast
Responsibilities
* assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care for patients according to accepted nursing practice and standards
* working in consultation with other Health Professionals and members of health teams, and coordinating the care of patients
* providing interventions, treatments and therapies such as medications, and monitoring responses to treatment and care
* promoting health and assisting in preventing ill health by participating in health education and other health promotion activities
* answering questions and providing information to patients and families about treatment and care
* supervising and coordinating the work of Enrolled Nurses and other health care workers
