You will be part of a team of leaders engaged in the following tasks:
1. Getting to know the members, their interests, talents, and hopes.
2. Operating the Foróige Club structure with the members, including a club committee.
3. Involving all members actively in managing the affairs of the club.
4. Agreeing on a set of rules with the young people covering behaviour in the club.
5. Involving members in "learning by doing" through choosing, planning, doing, and evaluating developmental, recreational, and community activities.
6. Attending occasional meetings with other leaders.
7. Getting parental permission and maintaining contact with parents as needed.
8. Representing the club at District Council and attending interclub events.
9. Following Foróige procedures for safe practice in work with young people.

Foróige's primary aim is to empower young people to actively participate in their own development and society. This involves fostering personal growth, building positive relationships, and encouraging community involvement. We provide a safe environment for young people to develop talents, learn new skills, and build confidence.

Where: Various locations in North and South Tipperary
Requirements: Volunteers should have common sense, a positive attitude towards young people, and be willing to learn and share responsibility. No specific educational background is required as training is provided. Relevant skills include community development, social work, hospitality, befriending, and personable skills.
Level of English Required: Proficient
Age Restrictions: Over 18
Time and Commitment: Minimum of 1 year, 2 hours weekly, available during morning, afternoon, or evening on any day of the week.
Screening: Garda Vetting, informal interviews, references, application form, photo ID check.
Supports Provided: Support, supervision, initial induction and training, insurance, ongoing training opportunities.
