Role Purpose
To support the Engineering Manager and carry work out as directed by the Engineering Supervisors. Help to meet deadlines whilst maintaining the engineering and technical integrity.
Key Accountabilities -
* Complete fault finding, planned and preventative maintenance on plant and equipment to maximize equipment reliability and performance.
* Actively delegate the shifts response to breakdowns and give good communication to provide effective and efficient service to production and other departments.
* Carry out fault finding, problem solving and establishing route cause fixes to address equipment issues.
* Maintain ongoing communications with the operations team, ensuring they are fully aware of all relevant engineering activities and schedules.
* Respond to internal customer needs to maximize production up time according to given priorities.
* Have a good work ethic, push continuous improvements and push for PPM completion in a timely manner.
* Help co-ordinate and manage contractors and audit their work.
* Comply with food safety standards and controls to ensure all work is carried out correctly and safely.
* Record any stock removed from the Engineering stores to ensure accurate stock control.
* Complete all necessary documentation ensuring that it is kept accurate and is audit ready.
* Ensure the engineering workshops areas are kept tidy and audit ready
* Identify and recommend opportunities for improvements to promote Health & Safety and/or operational efficiency and effectiveness
Experience & Qualifications
* Time served accredited apprentice or equivalent experience with appropriate certification.
* Good communication skills.
* Site Experience.
* Team leader experience or a similar role an advantage.
* Maintenance of Engineering Systems within a manufacturing environment. Experience of a multi-skilled engineering environment.
* Experience of working within a FMCG environment, preferably within the food industry.
* Electrical and mechanical fault-finding ability (including pneumatic and hydraulic systems).
* The ability to read, follow and amend engineering drawings.
* Computer literate (Outlook, Word, Internet explorer)
* A proactive and positive approach to engineering.
