Clinical Psychologist - Housing First

We are looking for an enthusiastic newly qualified psychologist with a passion for working with people experiencing homelessness. We welcome applications from soon-to-qualify and newly qualified psychologists.
You will be part of Liverpool University Hospitals Clinical Health Psychology Service, based at Aintree Hospital, within a supportive and welcoming team.

Deliver psychological work to support Housing First initiatives across Liverpool City Region.

Job responsibilities
* Conduct clinical interventions using various psychological theories to analyze and treat complex cases, often involving co-morbid physical and mental health issues. Work autonomously with regular supervision.
* Manage complex clinical cases, including those with emotional distress or challenging behaviors, requiring high interpersonal skills.
* Provide expert advice on psychological aspects of care to multidisciplinary teams, staff, patients, and carers, including motivating patients and organizing workload for trainees and assistants.
* Utilize neuropsychological assessment tools, interpret results, and consider complex factors affecting patient health and well-being.
Person Specification
Knowledge
* Postgraduate degree in clinical psychology; eligible for BPS membership and chartered status.
Experience
* Experience in psychological assessment, formulation, and treatment across various care settings.
* Experience working with diverse client groups, including handling distressing situations professionally.
* Experience in teaching, training, or supervision.
* Experience applying psychology in different cultural contexts.
* Expertise in complex assessment, formulation, and intervention methods.
* Training or experience in mindfulness and DBT models.
Additional Knowledge
* Doctoral-level knowledge of research methodology and data analysis in psychology.
* Understanding of relevant legislation and IT systems.
Skills
* Strong communication skills for engaging with clients, families, and professionals.
* Ability to teach and present using multimedia tools.
* Mechanisms to support clinical practice amid emotive and challenging situations.
* Self-reflection, supervision, and understanding of organizational dynamics.
* Consultation skills for multidisciplinary and community groups.
