My leading manufacturing client has an exciting opportunity for a Purchasing Assistant to join their expanding team. This role involves supporting the purchasing department in procurement activities, ensuring timely acquisition of goods and services, and maintaining accurate records.
Key Responsibilities
1. Purchase Order Processing: Prepare and process purchase orders, verify requisitions, and issue orders to suppliers.
2. Supplier Coordination: Communicate with suppliers to obtain product information, negotiate terms, and maintain positive relationships.
3. Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels, coordinate with warehouse and other departments, and assist in audits.
4. Administrative Support: Maintain records, reports, and assist with procurement documentation.
5. Compliance and Reporting: Ensure procurement activities comply with policies and generate reports on purchasing and supplier performance.
Key Skills and Competencies
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
* Good communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
* Ability to absorb and assess information quickly.
