Main Duties of the Job

Job Description

With previous experience from the NHS or private care, you can join the multidisciplinary team at Gateway Recovery Centre in Widnes which has a strong emphasis on teamwork, and where you will provide care for men and women with complex mental health needs.
As a Social Worker you will manage a complex caseload and be responsible for social care assessments, risk assessments, facilitate group activities, and will contribute to ICR meetings, supporting service users to make viable plans for their future.
You report to the Safeguarding Lead, and will manage internal investigations and liaise with home authorities for service users during their admission and discharging process, while enjoying access to a range of training opportunities that can help your career grow and you achieve your aspirations.

* Referrals to LADO and Local Authority in line with safeguarding and assessments
* Educating hospital staff about relevant safeguarding matters
* Completing a full annual social care reassessment within the CPA format
* Facilitating access to welfare rights, housing, advocacy services and associated support services
* Participating in 1:1 supervision
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
* A Social Work degree
* Social Work England registration
* Experience within a similar environment with vulnerable adults

You will be working at the Gateway Recovery Centre, a state-of-the-art facility which provides care for men and women with complex mental health requirements.
The hospital is split into four distinct areas:
* Male Autism Service for the challenging and complex needs of adults with Autism and Asperger’s syndrome
* Assessment and rehabilitation for women with complex mental health needs and personality difficulties
* Specialist inpatient service for older men with complex mental health and physical health needs
* Low secure care setting for men with a mental illness with or without personality disorder/mild LD
You will be working alongside the team with the aim to improve the mental health and wellbeing of service users and to help them develop and maintain healthy relationships with others. Gateway Recovery Centre will work to reduce risk behaviours associated with mental health conditions so that our patients can ultimately live successful and fulfilling lives within the community.

Person Specification – Qualifications Essential
To be successful in this role, you will need a Social Work degree, Social Work England registration, and experience working in a similar environment with vulnerable adults.
