Clinical and / or Forensic Psychologist 0.8 to 1 WTE (NHS Grade 8a, b or c)

Medium Secure – Acquired Brain injury (Rose ward)

Location: Northampton, Northamptonshire

Psychologist - Salary from £46,781 to Consultant Psychologist - Salary from £74,331

You and the role

We seek to appoint a 0.8 to 1 WTE Clinical or Forensic Psychologist, HCPC registered, with experience from qualified psychologist (band 8a) to consultant psychologist, interested in working with complex and challenging patient groups.

The ward: Acquired Brain Injury (Rose ward)

Rose is a 16-bed forensic neuropsychiatry unit for men with neurological and mental health conditions requiring neurobehavioral rehabilitation in a forensic setting. Diagnoses include acquired or traumatic brain injury, dementia, stroke, epilepsy, Huntington’s disease, possibly with learning disabilities, psychosis, or personality disorder. We pride ourselves on managing the most complex cases.

Psychology is highly valued and integrated within a multidisciplinary team. The post holder will be involved in assessments, formulation-led interventions, and contribute to service development. Approaches include CBT, Schema, CFT, EMDR, DBT, and trauma-informed care, in individual and group formats.
