What you will do:
• Lead the development of the annual assurance plan, engaging with all relevant business units and control functions to ensure coverage of key risks and avoid duplication of effort. Align the plan with the bank’s future strategy, objectives, and risk appetite, ensuring that assurance activities address current priorities while also anticipating emerging risks and regulatory changes. Present the plan for formal approval by the appropriate governance body, ensuring it supports sustainable, long-term growth and value creation.
• Identify control gaps and areas for operational improvement, recommending effective, pragmatic solutions.
• Foster cross-functional collaboration to ensure all assurance activities are coordinated and non-duplicative.
• Provide actionable insight on governance, risk exposure, and control effectiveness to inform strategic decision-making.
• Build and lead a high-performing team of assurance specialists.
• Build strong relationships with executives, directors, and Internal Audit to ensure findings are understood and acted upon.
• Deliver clear, actionable reports tailored to diverse audiences (board, operational teams, external parties).
• Any other duties as required that reasonably fall within the role.

What you will need:
• Extensive demonstrable experience in internal controls, assurance, audit, or risk management, ideally within a medium-to-large organisation, or at a leading consultancy firm.
• Experience in First Line.
• Demonstrated ability to balancing regulatory requirements with operational efficiency and positive customer outcomes.
• Skilled in preparing and presenting detailed documentation for executive stakeholders and regulatory reviews.
• Strong ability to develop and apply an objective, risk-based approach to recommending effective, pragmatic solutions, ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations and the bank’s risk appetite.
• Excellent drafting skills with a proven history of producing clear and concise material for senior executive audiences.
• Exceptional verbal communication, strategic thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Proven Leadership experience.
