JOB DETAILS

JOB BAND: D
CONTRACT TYPE: Permanent, Part-time ( 14 hours per week )
DEPARTMENT:BBC Nations, BBC Radio Kent
LOCATION: Tunbridge Wells
PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £40,000 - £53,200 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

BBC EXTEND

This role is advertised as part of our BBC Extend programme for disabled people. PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

BBC Radio Kent does what it says on the tin. We're the BBC's radio station for Kent, connecting the community, with fantastic stories and music every day. The presenter/producer of BBC Radio Kent's weekly 'BBC Introducing' show will have a genuine passion for music. You'll thrive on celebrating new and unsigned, undiscovered and under-the-radar music talent from across the county. We want to give artists a platform to reach higher and thrive. We are all about authenticity and supporting artists because we believe in them.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:

* You'll not only be the voice of BBC Introducing but also a crucial part of the team's production machine, curating content of the highest quality, in our digital first approach.
* You'll have lots of ideas on how to make your content travel further, aside from the two-hour, weekly radio show.
* As well as nurturing our existing audience, you will be key to attracting new listeners, by reflecting the true diversity in our communities.
* You will research and present your content in an engaging and impartial way, always following the BBC's Editorial Guidelines.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

* You'll have experience of radio presentation/production, bringing energy and bags of enthusiasm, to deliver innovative and creative content.
* We are looking for a presenter/producer with a demonstratable interest in celebrating Kent's music scene and showcasing new talent.
* You'll want to take emerging artists to new heights, through airplay on the radio show, to putting acts forward on BBC Music Introducing's national and international stages at festivals (Glastonbury, Reading and Leeds, and many others).
* You'll need a broad music taste crossing a wide range of genres from Grime, Drill, Pop, Dance, Indie, Folk, Desi, Jazz, Rock and everything in between.
* We are looking for real team players as well as great broadcasters. You'll be part of a small team but one with huge ambition.

Candidates should please submit a showreel of content of up to 10 minutes in length which highlights the best of your live presenting skills. This could be a compilation or a single piece of content.
