Your new company Hays Engineering are working with a growing engineering and fabrication company specialising in Sprinkler pipework systems and mechanical services projects. Due to continued growth, are seeking a skilled AutoCAD Technician to support our fabrication and production teams by preparing detailed pipework drawings for manufacture Your new role Produce detailed take-off for pipework fabrication and installation. Prepare fabrication drawings, spool drawings, and pipework layouts. Develop cutting sheets for workshop production. Liaise with fabrication and installation teams to ensure drawings meet project requirements. Assist with material take-offs and documentation for fabrication. Maintain accurate drawing records and revision control. Ensure drawings comply with project specifications and company standards. What you'll need to succeed Proficiency in AutoCAD. Qualification in CAD, Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline preferred. Previous experience as a CAD Technician or Draftsperson within engineering or fabrication Experience producing drawings for pipework fabrication, mechanical services, or steel fabrication. Ability to read and interpret engineering and construction drawings. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in drafting. Good communication skills and ability to work with workshop and project teams. Desirable Skills Experience with pipe spool drawings and fabrication detailing. Knowledge of mechanical pipework systems (e.g., sprinkler, heating, chilled water, industrial pipework). Experience working with fabrication workshops.
