Role Overview

As a mid-level Software Developer at DB Logic, you will help maintain and enhance both legacy and modern systems. You'll split your time between supporting existing applications (e.g. VB.NET/.NET Framework, SQL Server) and contributing to new developments using the modern Microsoft stack. You will also liaise directly with clients to gather requirements, provide updates, and ensure their needs are met. This is a great role for someone with solid experience who wants to broaden their skillset, work in a supportive team, and grow into a more senior position.

Key Responsibilities

* Develop new features, modules, and enhancements in bespoke systems (e.g. order processing, CRM, stock control, asset management).
* Build, maintain, and optimise SQL Server databases (queries, stored procedures, schema design).
* Integrate with 3rd party APIs (Microsoft Graph, Azure services, Twilio, WhatsApp etc.).
* Work with Azure-based services: Blob/File Storage, App Services, AD/Entra ID, Intune, etc.
* Apply secure coding practices in accordance with OWASP principles, GDPR requirements, and industry standards.
* Perform code reviews, collaborate with senior developers, assist in troubleshooting and resolving system issues.
* Support the full product/service lifecycle: from requirements gathering through deployment, data visualisation, integration, support, and ongoing improvement.

Required Skills & Experience

* Minimum 2+ years' commercial software development experience.
* Strong experience in C# and .NET Framework / .NET Core / ASP.NET.
* Experience maintaining legacy VB.NET applications.
* Proficient with Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL, stored procedures, schema design).
* Good web tech skills: HTML, CSS, JavaScript / TypeScript.
* Experience with REST APIs, JSON, XML.
* Familiarity with version control (GitHub, DevOps or similar).
* Comfortable working across both legacy and modern codebases, with willingness to learn and adapt.

Desirable

Experience with Azure services (App Services, Functions, Blob/File/Key Vault).

* Prior work with Microsoft Graph or identity integrations.
* Exposure to data visualisation or dashboarding tools/UI work.
* Understanding of ERP / inventory / asset management workflows.
* Familiarity with virtualisation or cloud infrastructure (Hyper-V, Azure VMs).

What We Offer

* Salary: £30,000 (depending on experience).
* Hybrid working: based at our Rugeley office with home working flexibility.
* pension, free onsite parking.
* Company operates with long-standing clients; you'll have opportunities to work on both greenfield projects and maintain existing systems.
