Description Assistant Team Manager (Supported Accommodation) | 10289 | Permanent Contract | 37 hours per week | £43,822 to £48,227 per annum plus on-call | Grade K | Countywide To apply, you must download a Norfolk County Council application form >> Here Our Supported Accommodation service works to create and promote a positive environment for each young person in the independent living scheme. This is a unique opportunity for a strong leader with excellent interpersonal skills, who can demonstrate their ability to lead and motivate staff and drive change. You will ensure that young people are at the centre of everything that happens in the homes. You will be an excellent problem-solver, able to make sound judgements under pressure and respond effectively in a crisis. As an Assistant Team Manager in the Supported Accommodation service, you will be expected to provide management to the staff teams and Senior Practitioners at our Supported Accommodation homes, in accordance with legislation, Ofsted regulations, departmental policies and procedures, and county priorities. You will support the Team Manager to provide effective management and leadership to the teams, ensuring that appropriate consultation and advice are provided to enable services to meet departmental standards. Ideally, you will have professional experience in residential care, supported accommodation, or child-focused services, and be able to demonstrate substantial experience relevant to the responsibilities of this role. You will be required to have a relevant qualification or equivalent experience, and you will be expected to hold a Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management or be willing to work towards this within the first two years of employment. This post is predominantly office hours, but you will be required to participate in the on‑call rota for the homes during weekends, evenings, and bank holidays. Duties will include the supervision, support and performance management of Senior Practitioners and the staff team. You will support the Team Manager with the ongoing development of the service, using feedback from young people and their families, other agencies, and by monitoring all aspects of the homes as required by the Supported Accommodation Regulations 2023. As part of your duties, you will ensure that all legislation is met, including responsibility for achieving Ofsted standards and working in line with regulatory guidelines. You will need to be reliable, have strong personal relationships and communication skills, and uphold high professional standards. This is a hybrid role and covers several homes, so a full driving licence and daily access to a vehicle are required.
