About the role
This is a senior, hands‑on position where you will play a key role in promoting the district, supporting major events, and ensuring communications are clear, engaging, and impactful.
* Lead high‑profile campaigns across council services and priorities.
* Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders.
* Shape and deliver integrated, insight‑led communications aligned to council priorities.
* Lead place‑based and destination campaigns, including Visit Lichfield, working with partners to maximise reach and impact.
* Manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, high‑profile environment.
Campaigns & Communications
* Take ownership of campaigns from planning through to delivery and evaluation.
* Lead and deliver integrated campaigns across council services and priorities.
* Advise stakeholders on effective communications from planning to delivery.
* Create clear, engaging content from complex information.
* Manage multiple high‑profile campaigns with consistent quality and impact.
* Produce digital‑first content, including social media and video.
* Use data and insights to improve performance and outcomes.
Stakeholder Relationships
* Build strong partnerships across the council and with external stakeholders.
* Act as a trusted advisor to improve engagement and communications.
* Coordinate activity to ensure consistency and avoid duplication.
* Provide constructive challenge to ensure audience‑focused messaging.
* Lead place‑based and destination campaigns for Lichfield District.
* Oversee Visit Lichfield content, campaigns, and promotions.
* Work with local businesses and partners to maximise reach and impact.
Insight & Improvement
* Monitor and report on campaign performance.
* Use insight to continuously improve communications and engagement.
* Promote best practice across digital and communications activity.
Skills & Experience
* Experience managing multiple campaigns or projects with competing deadlines.
* Proven experience in communications, campaigns, or marketing.
* Strong digital and content creation skills.
* Confidence working with stakeholders at all levels.
* Ability to turn complex information into compelling messaging.
* Experience planning and evaluating campaigns.
