Job Description:
Grant Thornton’s UK Restructuring, Pensions and Debt Advisory team (RPDA) handles complex advisory assignments and insolvency appointments. The team has advised on high-profile restructuring and insolvency cases both in the UK and internationally, including Greensill, Buckingham Group, BrightHouse, Royale Resorts, and Wonga. They also work with global financial institutions on restructuring and dispute-related projects across various sectors such as real estate, healthcare, energy, manufacturing, and more. The environment is dynamic, with peak periods during transactions, providing varied experience. Based in London, the team offers opportunities for UK-wide work and career progression, including insolvency qualifications like CPI and JIEB.

A look into the role:
As an Assistant Manager in the team, you will:
* Understand market developments and current trends relevant to our work.
* Provide strategic recommendations during negotiations and sales pitches, including origination activities.
* Contribute to internal and external presentations for the department and firm.
* Build and nurture internal and external networks.
* Participate in events, training, and marketing activities to promote recovery services.
* Apply technical knowledge appropriately to client situations, demonstrating skill and efficiency in problem-solving.
* Make clear, quick recommendations to managers regarding client issues, offering a range of options.
* Balance the need for comprehensive information with the requirement for swift decision-making from a client's perspective.
* Manage team members and those on assignments, including coaching, performance management, and development opportunities.
Minimum criteria for the role:
* Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA).
* Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
