A Snapshot of Your Day
As the Head of UK & Ireland HVDC Operation and Maintenance, you will lead the charge in developing, implementing, and managing our HVDC business in these regions. Every day, you will deliver on existing contracts and introduce innovative solutions for the operation and maintenance of a growing customer portfolio. Your goal is to ensure the efficient and reliable functioning of customer assets.
You will need to demonstrate strong leadership and critical thinking, coupled with outstanding communication and organizational skills. Your role will play a key part in driving the success of our HVDC business, encouraging collaboration, and ensuring all operational goals are achieved effectively.
How You’ll Make an Impact
4. Promote and demonstrate a Zero Harm culture within the team and service organization.
5. Develop and implement a strategic business plan for the growth and expansion of HVDC in the UK&I market, ensuring alignment with GIS colleagues and business objectives.
6. Build and maintain positive relationships with key industry collaborators, including customers, interconnector owners, regulators, and relevant organizations.
7. Collaborate with the Head of Operational Excellence and customers to develop asset management strategies that improve value and maintain ISO55001 certification.
8. Identify new business opportunities and work with sales, engineering, and Global Service Line Management teams to build tailored solutions for the UK&I market.
9. Supervise a team, offer resources and support, and monitor financial performance for long-term success in the HVDC business.
What You Bring
10. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Business, or a related field; an advanced degree or relevant professional qualifications is advantageous.
11. Extensive experience in maintenance, repair, and modernization services, preferably within the electrical grid industry.
12. Proven track record of leading high-performance teams, demonstrating strong leadership and motivational skills.
13. Excellent critical thinking, planning, and problem-solving abilities, complemented by strong commercial competence.
14. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with partners at all levels.
15. In-depth knowledge of the UK&I electrical grid market, including technologies, regulations, and trends, along with strong financial and business management skills.
