Job Description Administration Assistant - Mid & East Antrim Borough Council - Ballymena Do you have recent admin experience and interesting in working in the Public Sector? This is a great opportunity for you to secure immediate work on a temporary basis. About the role: Ballymena £13.69p/h 37 hrs per week Monday to Friday Temporary - 6 months (possibility of extension) Please note deadline for applications for this vacancy is Thursday 18th March 2025, However, you can register your interest for current and upcoming Council vacancies by applying today. What you'll be doing in this role: Provide efficient and effective administrative and financial support to the Waste Service within the depot in accordance with established corporate and departmental procedures and legislative requirements. Assist in the development and promotion of Councils waste management activities in order to maximise service performance and customer satisfaction. Ensure high standards of customer care and continuity of service in meeting organisational deadlines while dealing with a wide variety of stakeholders through various communication channels. What requirements are needed for this role: Have a minimum of 5 GCSEs to include English Language and Maths (grade C or above) or equivalent qualifications to demonstrate literacy and numeracy. Be able to demonstrate, by providing personal and specific examples, a minimum of 2 years administrative experience in a busy office environment, to include: Working knowledge of a wide range of administrative activities within a customer focused environment Experience of processing orders and invoices IT literacy and confident use of databases, e-mail and Microsoft packages A qualification that demonstrates competency in working with office technology i.e. Word Processing or Typewriting. consideration may be given to candidates who do not possess the required GCSE qualifications but who can demonstrate, by providing personal and specific examples, a minimum of 4years administrative experience in a busy office environment, to include:Alternatively, Working knowledge of a wide range of administrative activities within a customer focused environment Experience of processing orders and invoices IT literacy and confident use of databases, e-mail and Microsoft packages and a qualification that demonstrates competency in working with office technology i.e. Word Processing or Typewriting.
