Oversee all aspects of corporate communications and patient advocacy activities, including managing a team of people covering internal, external and patient advocacy activities. Drive increased awareness of and pride for Kyowa Kirin in the region among internal and external stakeholders through established approaches to communications and patient advocacy. Align with regional business priorities and global communications strategies. Set the overarching Regional Corporate Communications vision, focus and annual plan, aligned to business priorities, and oversee successful implementation across the regional and cluster teams, aligned to global priorities and guidelines. Demonstrate impact through clear metrics Drive an increase in overall awareness and understanding among all stakeholders of the company’s mission and vision, to support the company’s business objectives. Leverage news milestones at a global, regional and local level, to raise awareness for Kyowa Kirin’s purpose and impact, and generate unique news opportunities to further increase overall awareness Manage relationships with Patient Advocacy Groups at the regional level, and partner with cluster teams to ensure local voices are included. PAGs include XLH Alliance, CLF, EURORDIS, RDI, and others, as pipeline grows and adapts Deliver consistent and sustained news coverage about the business, through a mix of earned, owned and paid media, leveraging thought-leadership activities, news milestones, and created opportunities in support of the company mission Monitor and analyse the external environment across the region to track media and general trends, identify risks and opportunities for the business, and develop and act on relevant insights. Manage all issues and crises as needed, in line with Kyowa Kirin Crisis Manual and working with the wider EC Oversee all employee communications activities, working closely with HR where needed, to help employees understand the vision and Mission-Critical Priorities for the company Oversee all owned corporate channels for the region, including the corporate website, social media channels, Intranet, email communications, and TEAMS channels for employee-wide communications; implement new channels as appropriate and in line with global guidance Degree in journalism, English literature or similar preferred; experience in communications, public affairs, government relations/policy, patient advocacy, including agency or in-house experience, working at a PAG or in a communications role Deep understanding of healthcare communications, rare disease and pharmaceutical industry environment, with good contacts and networks across the community Demonstrated track record of delivering innovative, impactful programs that meet business needs, in a collaborative way across multiple geographies and teams. Specifically, experience in driving media, employee, and PAG engagement Ability to manage teams with direct and indirect reporting lines and demonstrated growth of teams as measured by impact, connectedness Has the competency, experience, and knowledge to effectively collaborate with key internal stakeholders to influence the direction of regional strategies Enterprise mindset, with ability to manage regional needs against wider global business priorities Kyowa Kirin International is an equal opportunities employer.
