About the role Deliver the Academy’s coaching curriculum, adapting sessions to align with the Club’s coaching and playing philosophies. Work within the coaches’ competency framework and engage in continuous professional development (CPD). Liaise with Lead Phase Coaches to support player transition across age groups and phases. Implement policies and practices outlined in the Academy Performance Plan (APP). Ensure training and matchday delivery complies with Football League and EPPP rules. Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to integrate sports science, education, and welfare into coaching plans. Maintain accurate planning, reporting, and data uploads to the PMA system. Attend and contribute to Departmental meetings and guide where necessary Specific tasks Support and lead football activities including coaching blocks, game planning, match preparation, and post-match analysis (evidenced in PMA). Organise and conduct individual player reviews, incorporating Individual Learning Plans and input from Science and Education departments. Deliver coaching hours in line with the ‘coaching working week’, managing intensity, frequency, and recovery. Achieve a minimum of 5 hours CPD annually to maintain UEFA B/A qualification. Engage with personal development plans aligned with the Head of Coaching framework. Implement academy playing and coaching strategies into sessions and matchday delivery. Support early and late developers through inclusive squad management. Review performance data and reports to identify player progression and potential for schoolboy contracts. Apply the player competency framework to monitor development against club objectives. Uphold safeguarding policies, support inductions, lifestyle management, and exit strategies.
