Based at our facility in Glenrothes, Fife, our Graduate Apprenticeship programme delivers an exciting new way for you to gain a BEng (Hons) Engineering Design and Manufacture (Electronic) from Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh - with valuable industry experience that will set you apart from your peers. You study broadly the same subjects as those completing a traditional full-time undergraduate degree, and achieve the equivalent level of qualification over a four-year period. The key difference is you will undertake your learning as a mix of classroom and workplace-based training and assessment â whilst engaged in paid employment as a core member of our Process Engineering team. We provide you with a full-time employment contract whilst you complete your degree, with the opportunity for a permanent role following graduation. Initially, you will complete 1 day per week classroom learning at university, and 4 days per week workplace learning. The balance of office versus lecture time alters as you progress through your degree. Semefab has a 40-year history at its facility in Glenrothes in the manufacture and supply of a range of Semiconductor products worldwide to a variety of customers for a number of end applications.\n Starting in the summer of 2026 as part of our team you will have the opportunity to work with our team to learn the skills required for Semiconductor wafer fabrication and manufacturing on site. This will involve understanding the production line detail, processing and development, design, probe and test and quality assurance engineering. \nThe Engineering Design and Manufacture graduate apprenticeship programme aims to produce BEng (Hons) graduates who:\nâ¢\thave a sound basis in theoretical engineering principles and methods as well as their application in the context of design and analysis\nâ¢\tare able to operate in a team as well as in multidisciplinary contexts\nâ¢\thave an appreciation of the wider societal and commercial influences on, and impact of, engineering\nâ¢\thave problem-solving skills and the ability to apply such skills by developing innovative solutions to society's practical needs\nâ¢\thave developed the personal qualities and professional competencies of mechanical engineers\nâ¢\tare tailored to the needs of their company.\n Education requirements: to apply, you are must have achieved:\n⢠SQA Highers at BBBB including Mathematics, plus Physics or similar\n⢠A-Levels at BBC including Mathematics, plus Physics or similar\n⢠SQA HNC in an engineering discipline (or relevant Modern/Technical Apprenticeship) with Engineering Mathematics 1 & 2 (or equivalent)\n⢠Foundation Apprenticeship in Engineering in conjunction with SQA Highers at BBB* including Mathematics\n⢠A combination of qualifications totalling 96 SCQF credits at level 6 or Minimum 106 UCAS points\nWe are looking for highly motivated individuals with a passion for Engineering.
