Overview Technical Director role at WSP focusing on fire safety in architectural design. Involves working on diverse projects (e.g., university projects in Scotland, high-rise towers in London) with international opportunities, delivering innovative design while maintaining high fire safety standards.
Responsibilities Manage design information and coordinate with WSP disciplines such as Facades, Acoustics and Structures.
Present designs to local authorities and the Fire Service.
Inform the design team about changes to increase building safety.
Learn and apply software packages, fire standards, and participate in team briefings and client updates.
Contribute to professional registration progress with IFE or other organisations.
Participate in a bespoke development programme for fire engineers, including training areas such as technical report writing, project management, influential communications, and commercial concepts.
Qualifications BSc (BEng) or MSc (MEng) in Fire, Structural, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
Extensive experience in fire engineering consulting.
Open to base from any UK major office.
