Transport Planning Manager
Here at Menzies Distribution, we currently have an opening for an experienced Transport Planning Centre Manager to join our team in Coalville. Menzies is a dynamic logistics company, delivering supply chain solutions across various sectors including Newstrade, Retail, and eCommerce. We are seeking a candidate who is eager to contribute to our growth and help us continue to excel.
The primary responsibility of this role is to manage and facilitate the timely and cost-effective delivery of our customers' products, ensuring compliance with transport legislation and health & safety standards. The manager will optimize the utilization of our fleet, plan deliveries and collections efficiently, and lead a team of planners to meet KPI targets.

* Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday / 47.5 Hours Per Week
* Hours: 08:00-18:00

* Previous experience in a Transport Planning role with HGV vehicles is required.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
* Monitor daily and weekly performance metrics
* Implement key competencies within the team
* Ensure OTIF (On Time In Full) adherence, with a minimum of 97.5%
* Manage subcontractor performance and margins
* Utilize driver and vehicle resources effectively
* Administer customer requirements efficiently
* Review delivery schedules regularly
* Ensure fleet compliance with legal standards
* Analyze performance data for continuous improvement
* Maintain cost-effective transport operations meeting contractual KPIs
* Prepare KPI reports
* Build a diverse and effective team environment
* Authorize and manage subcontractors and suppliers
* Develop new business opportunities
Qualifications and Experience:
* Deep knowledge of Transport Systems (ESS, ESP, GTS or similar)
* Experience leading a busy planning team
* Understanding of driver hours, tachograph, and WTD legislation
* Experience with continuous improvement initiatives
* Strong educational background
* Leadership and team development skills
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
