The Access to Education Team ensure that all children and young people (CYP) receive an education that is their entitlement by law.
We are looking to recruit a passionate individual with the drive and motivation to make a difference to the lives of children and young people in Kent. You will have excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to manage complex and challenging situations as well as the ability to keep accurate, up to date records.
Responsibilities
* Review information about a child's home education, make contact with families through email, home visits or virtual meetings, record the learning, progress, achievements, and welfare of CYP.
* Work collaboratively with partners and colleagues to ensure that CYP recorded as EHE are in receipt of a suitable education.
* Provide practical advice and guidance to families actively engaged in elective home education, and offer appropriate support to families where home education is no longer the preferred option or is not meeting the child's needs.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Full UK Driving Licence – the Council is committed to making reasonable adjustments so if you are unable to drive due to a disability your application will still be considered.
* Subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
* Command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements (statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016).
* Sort of customer‑facing role as considered by KCC, with the appropriate standards set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
