<div><h3>Overview</h3><p>In Hertfordshire you will provide specialist assessments within the A&E setting, follow‑ups and short‑term interventions for young people under 18 suffering from acute and complex emotional, behavioural and psychological crisis. You will also support a crisis telephone line, triage and assessment, and deliver face‑to‑face assessments, follow‑ups and brief interventions in the community. Most referrals come from the two A&E sites in Hertfordshire and the new crisis telephone line aims to prevent unnecessary attendances.</p><h3>Working Pattern</h3><p>The C‑CATT service operates 24/7 and this role requires day, evening, night and weekend working.</p><h3>Qualifications and Experience</h3><ul><li>Relevant professional qualification in Mental Health Nursing (degree or diploma).</li><li>Up‑to‑date professional registration and evidence of further professional development or training.</li><li>Membership to a professional body.</li><li>Experience working in Mental Health and CAMHS and knowledge of mental health problems.</li><li>Experience in a multi‑disciplinary team.</li><li>Knowledge of the Mental Health Act, Children’s Act and child protection issues.</li><li>Experience using evidence‑based crisis interventions with young people.</li><li>Ability to keep up‑to‑date records and produce written and verbal reports for external agencies.</li><li>Ability to provide verbal feedback to the team.</li></ul><h3>Essential Criteria</h3><ul><li>Ability to assess and monitor a client’s mental state.</li><li>Ability to assess risk and safety.</li><li>Current driving licence and ability to drive (unless a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010 prevents you from driving).</li><li>Appropriate UK professional registration.</li></ul><h3>Desirable Criteria</h3><ul><li>Experience of brief interventions and crisis telephone line support in a child and adolescent setting.</li><li>Analytical skills in managing and interpreting clinical data.</li><li>Physical stamina for a 24/7 service.</li></ul><h3>About the Trust</h3><p>Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust has an overall rating of “Outstanding” from the Care Quality Commission.
