We are seeking a dedicated Design and Technology Technician to join our team at a secondary school in Leeds. As a key member of our department, you will support the teaching and learning of design and technology, ensuring that students have access to safe and efficient resources to explore their creative potential.
Requirements:
1. Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
2. Previous experience as a Design and Technology Technician in a school setting.
3. Strong understanding of health and safety protocols related to workshop environments.
4. Proficiency in the use and maintenance of design and technology equipment and machinery.
5. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
6. Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Responsibilities:
7. Prepare materials and equipment for design and technology lessons, workshops, and projects.
8. Maintain a clean and organised workshop environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
9. Assist teaching staff during practical sessions, providing technical guidance and support to students.
10. Carry out routine maintenance and repairs on workshop tools and machinery.
11. Manage inventory and stock levels, ordering supplies as needed.
12. Collaborate with teaching staff to develop and implement engaging practical activities and projects.
13. Provide assistance with the setup and running of extracurricular design and technology activities.
