The HFEA is the UK's independent regulator overseeing safe andappropriate practice in fertility treatment and embryo research. We license andmonitor clinics carrying out IVF, donor insemination, and human embryoresearch.
We are looking for a full-time IGRM Officerto work within our small team on a fixed term 12-month basis. This team managesthe information governance and records management functions at the HFEAincluding Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), Subject Access Requests(SARs) and management of data breaches. It is also responsible for ourelectronic document management system.
TheHFEAs office is at 2 Redman Place, Stratford, London. This post is offered asyour choice of either office based in which case (you need to attend the officeat least once per week) or home based (you cannot attend the office more than 3times per month).

Main duties of the job
We are looking for someone who isproactive, detail-oriented, and capable of managing competing priorities with amethodical approach. You will need to be confident interpreting data protectionlegislation and information governance best practice and applying itpragmatically to real-world situations. The ideal candidate will take ownershipof their work, show initiative in resolving issues, and have a collaborativeattitude that supports cross-team engagement. Experience supporting DPIAs,SARs, and managing records or information systems in a regulatory or publicsector environment would be particularly valuable.

The postholder will provide expert support relatingto IG, Records Management and its application to the HFEA Act and theAuthoritys work. The postholder will make recommendations and assistimplementation of agreed approaches.

The postholder will have an important role in records management andensuring policies around retention and deletion are followed after we migrateour electronic document management system to SharePoint.
