Overview
A key client for a qualified and experienced Financial Controller to lead the finance function of a multi-billion revenue business.
This role will manage and develop a team of seven accountants and take full ownership of month-end management reporting, continuous process improvement, and delivering insightful financial analysis to key stakeholders.
Responsibilities
* Lead, manage, and develop a team of 7 qualified and part-qualified accountants, fostering a high-performance culture.
* Oversee the full month-end management accounting process, ensuring timely, accurate and insightful reporting.
* Present monthly financial results, KPIs and performance commentary to senior stakeholders, supporting informed decision-making.
* Drive continuous improvement in financial reporting processes, controls, and systems, reducing close timelines and enhancing data quality.
* Ensure audit readiness through robust internal controls, accurate reconciliations, and effective documentation of processes.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure finance supports wider business objectives.
* Provide financial insight and analysis to support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning cycles.
* Identify and implement opportunities to streamline workflows and automate reporting tasks.
* Act as a key point of contact for external auditors and support the year-end audit process.
Candidate Requirements
* Fully qualified accountant (ACCA / CIMA / ACA).
* Proven experience in a Financial Controller or similar senior finance role.
* Strong track record of improving and managing month-end reporting cycles.
* Demonstrated ability to manage and develop high-performing finance teams.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Proactive, process-driven, and confident in leading change across finance functions.
